  • SolarTech, Inc. develops solar cell modules that unify buildings. Solar cell modules are applied to the outer walls of buildings as construction materials so they are used not only for producing electric power but also for replacing materials for outer walls. They’re environmentally-friendly products and perform multiple functions. The BIPV modules are mainly for the curtain wall structure of commercial buildings and come in two types of modules: the glass/glass type to replace windows and doors and the metal curtain wall type to replace outer walls. Notably the size and the adhesion method are decided by considering the technology and market status of Korea. Structures, installation, regulations, safety, durability, maintenance and others are considered when modules are designed. In addition to this, the size of the PV unit modules is finalized by analyzing the market status of existing materials for outer walls. Market research for domestic and foreign outer walls is also performed and the adhesion method for modules and the hardware are designed and produced based on the research to best-fit the current situation.

  • 1. Glass/Glass type (BIPVSTM 50G, 60G)

  • The general solar cell modules use non-transparent black sheets but this product uses transparent glass so it can be used as glass windows and doors. The rated power is 50 W and 60 W and custom-building is available in accordance with the size of the required windows and doors.
  • When glass windows and doors are installed, the solar cell modules need to be connected inside of the frame. This is a product using wiring that can be freely installed inside of the glass window and door support frames by using specially developed terminal boxes. General solar cells use terminal boxes.
  • 2. Metal curtain wall(BIPVSTM 60A)

  • The general solar cell modules use non-transparent black sheets but this product uses aluminum plates in order to minimize efficiency decreases by increment of the solar cell temperature. This can be applied to the outer walls of buildings by replacing existing aluminum complex panels. The rated power is 60 W and custom-building is available in accordance with the size of the required walls.
  • Existing solar cell modules are supported using nuts and bolts mounted on the lower parts of the frame. This is a product that can be fixed to outer walls directly by developing solar cell module frames and connection parts. (Patent no 10-0617444: support frame integrated solar cell panel.)
